Abstract

The ASTM Method for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials (E 119) empirical formula for correcting the results of fire resistance tests is examined in the light of the normalized heat load concept. The formula, on the whole, does not contradict theoretical conclusions, but its accuracy is questionable. Under practical conditions the corrections is not expected to amount to more than a few minutes.
