This paper describes techniques for processing experimental data from a solar central receiver to evaluate the receiver steady-state efficiency. These techniques are applicable when the necessary experimental data is recorded on media that can be processed by a computer. The description includes how to select which measured value to use for the various parameters, how to determine a receiver steady-state condition, and how to evaluate the receiver efficiency. We compare the results from using these techniques for two different solar central receiver facilities using two different methods to evaluate the receiver steady-state efficiency.
