Fatigue design curves extending to 1010 cycles do not exist for A106B and A155KC70 piping steels. Therefore, a fracture mechanics approach which uses the concept of threshold stress intensity factor was utilized to determine a fatigue limit extending to 1010 cycles. The effects of microstructure, composition and wet steam environment on threshold stress intensity factor were investigated. The material properties were integrated with service loading conditions to determine maximum allowable strain amplitudes in a vibrating pipe.
