A computational technique is described for the analysis of propagating buckles in deep-water piplines. The technique is applied to an aluminum-alloy pipe for which experimental results are available. Quasi-static as well as dynamic buckles are obtained. The analytical results are presented and discussed in comparison with the experimental data.
