Health care delivery is becoming increasingly technology centric. Hence, the quality of health care delivery depends significantly on effective management and usage of technology in health care delivery settings, such as hospitals. The context of this study is a surgical (da Vinci) robot that exemplifies state-of-art technology.

A review of the published literature yielded a set of papers relevant to this study that include the following: Wright et al. [1] found that the use of robotic surgical procedure did not have any statistically significant effect on postoperative morbidity profiles of hysterectomy patients. Reza et al. [2] found that the robotic surgeries offered limited short-term benefits as compared with the net cost increase. Hu et al.
