Kidney stones are a hard mass of insoluble calcium deposits found in the urinary system [1]. Depending on the location of the stones, they may cause discomfort and their removal eases the patient from it [1]. Ureteroscopy is a urologic treatment which often uses minimally invasive instruments to access the regions where the stones are located [2]. Minimally invasive procedures have benefited from technological advancements resulting in shorter recovery time and reduced patient scarring.

This paper discusses the design of an ureteropyeloscope. The design of the ureteropyeloscope is based on clinical and mechanical requirements. The conceptual design of the ureteropyeloscope is evaluated in-silico and via simulations. The results of the simulations are given and discussed to evaluate the working parameters and conditions.
