In Ref. [1], the Marangoni number M is defined as

where μ is the kinematic viscosity with unit kgm1s1 (see Nomenclature), and a is the fluid thermal diffusivity (m2 s−1). Therefore, in the original manuscript by Lin et al. [1], the Marangoni number is presented as a number with unit, instead of a dimensionless number. After a communication with the authors, they responded that the correct unit of μ is m2 s−1, and therefore, the Marangoni number is correct.

On p. 3 in the paper by Lin et al. [1], there are two expressions of the shear stress. The first expression is
