The paper in discussion [1] presents a very interesting empirical model used for creep life estimation. Based on the obtained results, this model shows potential for wider use by other researchers working in this field. This work is believed to be valuable, in terms of the novelty of the approach proposed and employed. However, there are 35 parameters missing from the constituent models (thermal barrier coating oxidation, stress, thermal, and life estimation models), which drastically limits the reproducibility of the results by interested readers. The full list of the parameters is provided in Table 1. In particular, the calculations performed with the use of this empirical model and their associated parameters cannot be performed separately by other researchers wishing to assess independently the accuracy of the model and to use it in their research activities.
