Abstract

This paper gives an amplification of results of tests on one meter and represents a method of analysis of data from the tests conducted by the ASME Special Research Committee on Fluid Meters and the API Topical Committee on Volumeter Research, to determine the characteristics of displacement-type mechanical meters when measuring liquid hydrocarbons. It is a continuation of an earlier paper, and presents data with a method of further analysis beyond that made in the preliminary study. The early paper discussed the results in a general way. A more thorough study of the data on a particular meter, such as herein presented, can point the way toward close control of meter-performance characteristics for any particular design.
