Abstract

The growth of the shoe industry is described from its earliest establishment, from the point of view of mechanical handling of products. It describes the typical factory-production problem and the development of the mechanical conveyor in shoe factories. Mechanical drying and tempering of leather, as well as the adaptation of the individual motor to shoe machinery, are described, and also the installation of standard equipment for power house, dust collecting, packing, and shipping, to show that the shoe industry is searching for all methods to reduce production costs.
