The one-equation, eddy-viscosity transport model of Gulyaev, Kozlov, and Secundov, is modified and supplemented by an equation for the turbulence length scale. The advantages of the model developed here are demonstrated by computing a shear-free “boundary layer” on a flat plate, and the flow and heat transfer near the forward stagnation line of a circular cylinder. Both cases are known to be challenging for conventional turbulence models.
