A Dynamic Compressor Analysis (DCA) applicable to axial flow compressors operating with a wide variety of inlet or exhaust conditions (steady-state or dynamic, and with total pressure and/or total temperature inlet distortion patterns) has been developed as part of the Air Force/DDA Contract “Effects of Inlet Temperature Distortion on Gas Turbine Engine Stability.” The analysis is described and analytical results are compared to data obtained during the test phase of the program. Included are clean inlet data, circumferential pressure and temperature inlet distortion data, combined circumferential temperature and pressure distortion data, and radial temperature distortion data. Both the analytically predicted interstage flow distributions and the compressor’s stability limits are compared to the test results, and are shown to be in close agreement.
