This chapter outlines some of the major flow equations used for hydraulic calculations in pipeline transportation of liquids. It also provides a detailed review of centrifugal pumps. These pumps are most commonly used in liquid pipeline transmission systems. The objective is to briefly discuss the flow equations and their applications in order to relate them to the analysis of the centrifugal pumps used in liquid transportation.

In Chapters 3 and 4, gas equations were presented in Imperial Units. In this chapter, liquid flow equations are presented in both SI and Imperial Units.
