In the preceding chapters, we have attempted to clarify design requirements and nonlinear finite element analysis procedures by categorizing the design rules in ASME III into linear and nonlinear design rules. In particular, we have discussed nonlinear design rules. Our goal has been to overcome the difficulties that we have experienced when nonlinear design rules have been applied in conjunction to our power uprate and life extension tasks for aging BWR reactors in Sweden.
