No matter what the current operating mode is, for an existing CCHP system, the electricity to thermal energy output ratio of the PGU is fixed. When the electricity to thermal energy requirement ratio of users is equal to the output ratio of the PGU, the exhausted waste heat by the PGU can just match the needs of cooling and heating, and the maximum efficiency of the CCHP system will be achieved. Unfortunately, this ideal situation rarely occurs because of the random variation of energy requirements. Stemming from different operating modes, the thermal energy or electricity supply of the PGU may be less or more than the requirements.
