It is very crucial to have a monitoring system for the elderly people behaviour in case of emergency such as when they fall. Thus, automatically monitoring abnormal activities of the elderly using surveillance cameras at home is very important to home-care and health-care industries. In recent years, falls amongst the elderly are particularly serious and often lead to injury, restricted activities, fear of death. It was shown that many elderly people in the community experience at least one fall every year, and most of the falls lead to injury. In this paper, we propose an automation detection method for abnormal fall to help the elderly to obtain in-time medical treatments as well as identifying reasons of incidents.
