Concentrating Solar Power is generally considered a utility-scale solar technology rather than a building-scale technology. Concentrated solar power – also called CSP for short – are solar energy systems that use mirrors to concentrate a large area of sunlight, or solar thermal energy, onto a small receiver area. Electrical power is produced by concentrating the light into high temperature heat to drive a heat engine – usually a steam turbine – that is connected to an electrical power generator.
