This chapter is about becoming familiar with the layout and contents of API RP 574: Inspection Practices for Piping System Components. You can think of RP 574 as the ‘general piping knowledge’ part of the BoK. It is strongly linked to API 570 and supplements information that appears in it. We saw in previous chapters how linking of codes is a feature of the API/ASME approach to plant inspection (and the ICP exams).
