Looking back at Figures 14.2 and 14.3, these two sections (27 pages) make up the central core of API 570. Section 6 is the largest one, setting out how to decide the frequency/interval of inspection and how much inspection (the extent) is recommended for various components. Most of the content of Section 6 (including the two calendar-based tables) is good feedstock for closed-book exam questions as it consists of fundamental principles and ideas rather than technical padding.
