This chapter is a review of the basics of dynamic system response. In particular, we wish to relate the parameters of the transfer function or the state equations to the quantitative features of the time response of forced and unforced response. Special emphasis is placed upon the steady-state frequency response. The frequency response relationships derived in this chapter are fundamental to the main issues of feedback design developed in Chapter 3.
