Math and science are of great importance when dealing with measurement since the inception of humanity. Exchanging or swapping goods with equivalent value was the initial business since money did not exist. Hence, people were trading gold for salt and alternatively, ivory, skins, or pepper for equivalent salt or gold. This is to say that value of things matters, and this initiated quantitative measure of one product against the other. Math has then played a great role.
