Storing liquid oxygen in a cryogenic spherical container with a concentric spherical outer shell was analyzed in Chapter 20. In this chapter, let us insert a concentric spherical radiation shield with low emissivity surfaces in between the cryogenic spherical container “1” and outer spherical shell “2” in order to minimize radiation heat losses from the liquid oxygen as shown in Figure 21-1.
