We are lucky to have our Sun. It is a yellow dwarf star and at its surface, called the photosphere, it has an average temperature of 5800 K and it acts like an ideal thermal radiator. The Sun is at a mean distance of 1.496×1011 meters away from Earth. Sun’s gravity holds our solar system together. Also, we are very lucky to have an ideal Earth’s surface and an atmosphere around her that balance out the incoming total radiation power with the outgoing radiation power for us to be able to live our lives on this beautiful planet in stable temperatures.
