In this paper, Distributed temperature measurement by Raman scattering distributed optical fiber temperature measurement technology is used to monitoring of soil temperature along pipeline, which can realize the stability evaluation of pipeline at permafrost. This is a low-cost realization to solve the long-distance temperature measurements at the same time, to avoid the heavy work of establishing temperature monitoring section along the pipeline. It’s a simple realization of freezing monitoring and evaluation along the pipeline. Experiments on Mohe-Daqing pipeline show that the technology can identify the thawing and freezing zones along the pipeline in seasonal frozen soil area, evaluate the effect of frozen soil protection measures, such as active cooling measures. It will help pipeline operators to quickly evaluate the safety of pipelines at permafrost.
