The Earth Engineering Center (EEC) at The City College of New York (CCNY) hosted an interdisciplinary workshop on sustainable waste management practices with the objectives to facilitate discussion among all stakeholders and professionals and educate the public. The subject matter covered all processes and technologies available for waste management as well as perspectives from municipal, regulatory and policy personnel. The primary outcome was to advance the waste infrastructure of municipalities by bridging the knowledge gap between policy makers, industry, academia and the public. This report presents the findings that emerged from the workshop breakout sessions focusing on lessons learned and forward-thinking concepts while referring to real scale applications that use best practices related to waste management and associated technologies.
