The harsh reality of climate change accentuates the urgency to find effective and rapid solutions to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Among the emitting sectors, construction represents a significant share in all countries, so much so that it has become a main target for the national policies put in place, in particular concerning compliance with the objectives set by international agreements. In France, data show the share of the buildings to be at almost 45% of the final energy consumed, the residential sector taking around two-thirds and the tertiary sector the rest (around 30%).
