GRE HERC Services (GHS) operates the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota (as shown in the aerial view of the facility in Figure 1). The facility is owned by Hennepin County as part of their Integrated Solid Waste system and consists of a 1212 ton per day (TPD) mass-burn Waste-to-Energy (WTE) power plant. The facility has been in operation for over 30 years and is anticipated to be an important part of Hennepin County’s integrated solid waste system for many years to come.
