In this chapter we will investigate one of the most important performance parameters for an aircraft, namely its range. In the present analysis we will not consider an aircraft’s takeoff, climb, descent, or landing conditions. We will only consider the cruising conditions for different aircraft. For aircraft with turbofan jet engines, we will detail Airbus A380 and Boeing 737-800 cruising conditions. For a propeller-driven aircraft, we will analyze the Spirit of St. Louis.
