A solid model of Baohua ro-ro ship in Bohai Bay is constructed by means of a three dimensional modeling software. The model is then imported into Adina finite element analysis software to model the fluid-solid coupling problem. In this way, the problem that the finite element model can not approach the actual profile of the ships is solved satisfactory. The modal analysis of Baohua ro-ro ship in Bohai Bay was performed in this paper using Adina finite element analysis software. The rolling modes and the modal frequencies are obtained by the analysis. The fluid-solid coupling modal frequency range of the ship is also given in the analysis, which is helpful to manage the equipment and cargoes on the ro-ro ship.
