Vehicle mass moments of inertia (MMOI) and center of gravity (CG) are important vehicle design parameters that are difficult to obtain without a physical specimen or high-fidelity vehicle model. In this paper, we discuss the results of a software-based method for vehicle MMOI and CG estimation that uses a neural network approach. We show that this scheme generates reasonable results within seconds for a variety of wheeled vehicles without using a physical specimen or virtual vehicle model.
