Based on the analysis of parabolic trough receiver a one dimensional mathematic model of parabolic trough receiver is completed. Then model is verified via the experimental data of UVAC3 parabolic trough receiver. After verification the mathematic model is used to investigate other thermal performance of UVAC3 parabolic trough receiver and the overall thermal performance of UVAC2008 parabolic trough receiver. With the simulation results a correlation is developed to predict receiver heat loss as a function of the temperature difference AT in K between the inner surface temperature of absorber over ambient temperature and heat transfer process is analyzed in detail.
