The distribution of wind energy and the character of turbulence intensity are two of the key criterions for the micrositing of wind farms over complex terrains. In order to make the CFD technology in application of the wind flow simulation, the terrain of Askervein hill has been simulated, by using the NUMECA company software- FINE∕HEXA. The computational wind velocity results have been confirmed in good accordance with the experimental data. Moreover, according to the computed wind energy density isolines over different height cross sections and the wind direction planes, the turbulence intensity distribution along the measured line A as well as the vortex location, the ridge area and the windward part of the hillside have been chosen as the most ideal locations for installing wind turbines. In addition, the article analyzed and discussed on the different ground surface roughness which will influence the wind speed distribution, the effective height range, and the vortex.
