The anatomy for the artist is an important basic theoretical specialized course of the art majors. The traditional ways of teaching anatomy for the artist can no longer accommodate to the development of modern instruction, and the application of multimedia in anatomy for the artist course becomes a reformation of the traditional teaching models. Taking the features of teaching anatomy for the artist into account, the author gives a thorough elaboration of the advantages of multimedia teaching while pointing out problems apt to be overlooked in the instruction process. Proved by the teaching practice, the application of multimedia into the teaching of anatomy for the artist can bring forward intuitiveness, efficacy, liveliness and interactivity to the class which has obviously aroused the students' interest thus reaching a better teaching effect.
