The ZVS converter is widely used in medium or high power levels, and it's a hotspot of power electronic. The two arms of the converter both work in the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) condition, thus many advantages are brought, for example, little loss of power, simple structure, etc. But it also has some problems, such as inherent duty cycle loss, the parasitic oscillation and voltage spike on the output rectifier diodes and so on. Therefore, a novel phase shift full bridge PWM DC-DC converter is presented. This paper analyzes the operating principle of the converter and designs the parameters of the main elements. The detailed analysis of the soft-switching, single-loop voltage control, and the related problems of the ZVS converter are proposed in the this paper, the results of experiments are also provided.
