In this study, 2D Gabor representation of facial images is proposed for age estimation system. Taking advantage of the desirable characteristics of spatial locality and orientation selectivity of Gabor filters, we design 64 filters corresponding to eight orientations and eight scales for extracting facial texture features from internal facial region. In this context, we present comparative results concerning performances of the 64 Gabor filters in task of age estimation. Results on the FG-NET aging database show the Gabor filter with and gets better result than other orientations and scales, where μ and = define the orientation and scale of the Gabor filters.
