Although many face detection algorithms have been introduced in the literature, only a handful of them can meet the real-time constraints of mobile devices. In this paper, we evaluate the complexity of algorithms such as color histogram, face shape detection and skin color methods that we have found suitable for implementation on mobile devices. We develop a framework to allow generic face detection algorithms to exploit face information commonly available to mobile devices. We use a low complexity approaches such as region of interest (ROI), color histogram, skin color detection algorithms. Novel implementation for reducing the complexities of these algorithms and fast implementation are introduced in our paper.
