In this paper, a new system identification technique for adaptive aircraft control is proposed. The proposed method is characterized by the introduction of wavelet transformation to the traditional aerodynamic parameters identification method, for example, least squares. The use of wavelet transform enhances the robustness against undesirable measured noise in the flight test. Additionally, with the removing of the noise, the data length is shortened, which can improve the identification accuracy and efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by the simulation and experiment.
