For the problems such as the long inspection cycle of remote power transmission tower and the huge losses caused by unable to get the emergency situations in time such as tilt, collapse and so on, a remote inclinometer for power towers based on the framework of MEMS accelerometer MXA2500G, GSM and C8051F021 was designed. Use the tilt angle tester which is composed of C8051F021 and MEMS accelerometer installed in the power transmission tower to obtain the real-time tilt angle. Send the time, inclination, location and other information through the GSM module to the message platform for providing the power monitoring sector with inspection maintenance basis. Experiment result shows that the system can measure and send real-time tilt angle information with the advantages such as small size, low power consumption and so on. It can be widely used in power system test, communication towers and high buildings' attitude measurement, etc.
