In order to solve the problem that the stator grounding fault current becomes greater with the larger capacity of hydro-generator, one Neutral Grounding Mode is presented through analyzing the principle on Large Hydro-Generator with Compensation Resonant Neutral Grounding. Comparing with High Resistance Grounding, this mode can limit the grounding fault current and provide better protection to the stator iron and winding. Based on multi-loop analysis model, one 700MW hydro-generator in Three Gorges Power Plant is simulated, the data shows the feasibility of this method.
