This article analyzes engine vibration signals by using the algorithm that is based on wavelet packet analysis .This work presents an investigation of comparing the energy spectrum that is taken by the feature vectors and power spectrums of the normal signals and fault signals which are contained by decomposition and reconstruction of the sampling signals. The experimental results indicated that the wavelet packet analysis was effective in engine fault detection.
