Traditional testability models just qualitatively describe the relation between electromechanical system faults and tests. Quantitative characteristics of faults and tests are rarely considered. Large modeling errors always lead to inaccurate testability analysis and evaluation results. A novel testability model named function-fault-behavior-test-environment model was proposed in this paper. Firstly, the mathematical definition and description of the model and its submodels were expounded. Then, the relations among submodels were analyzed. Finally, the testability model was applied with an example. The example application indicates that this model is more accurate than traditional testability models, and can be applied in testability analysis, virtual experiment and evaluation.
