The aim of this paper is to find analytical solution of Hook and Maxwell dynamic vibration absorber attached to the machine having two degree of freedom system and finding performance of the same. Optimum value of damping ratio ‘ξ’ is determined from the analytical solutions, in order that the displacement of the primary structure shall be minimized over the whole frequency range. The optimized Hook and Maxwell dynamic vibration absorber model was found to be satisfactory from the results.
