Three-party password-based key exchange protocol is a kind of cryptographic protocol that enables two communication entities using simple passwords to establish a session key in unsecure environment with the help of a trusted third party. Recently, Tang and Wen proposed a simple three party password-based key exchange protocol which is claimed to be more efficient and convenient. However, we find it cannot resist key compromise impersonation attack and responder impersonation attack. In this paper, we present an improved protocol that removes such problems.
