As the technology continues to evolve, literature, equipment, personnel and other information of blasting industry are all on the rise. How to manage the information, and raise speed and precision of query is becoming a difficult problem. In this paper, an attempt has been made to solve some of these problems by proposing an ontology-based search engine. From the perspective of knowledge sharing, ontology can be seen as a conceptual description of the objective concepts and relations, which can greatly reduce the misunderstanding when machines processing concepts and relations in the problem domain. We first used specific ontology construction technology to build domain ontology for blasting industry. Secondly, we expanded its query module by using semantic expansion algorithm. Finally, we added constraints to the inference mechanism in accordance with industry rules. It is not surprising that the technique will greatly improve the speed and precision of query of explosive archives.
