Based on conventional motion adaptive (short of “MA”), an improved MA algorithm for deinterlacing is presented. We explicated the modules composing of the algorithm and discussed their advantages and disadvantages in detail. And then, pendulum, a standard de-interlacing test sequence, is used to test the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the improved MA algorithm reduces the error probability of motion estimation because of its median detection and keeps the edges of object better because of edge adaptive interpolation, and it is easy for hardware implementation.
