Cross language information retrieval (CLIR) is a concept that retrieves information written in different language from the language of the users query. One of the approaches to CLIR is based on the use of Web mining techniques. In this paper we review studies of the growth of the Internet and technologies that are useful for information search and cross-language information retrieval (CLIR). It is concerned with the development of techniques to improve the effectiveness of CLIR using World Wide Web techniques. The new ways to acquire cross-language information retrieval (CLIR) resources using Web mining techniques are explained below. These ways not only improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cross-language web retrieval; but also have wider applications than CLIR.
