This paper introduces the working principle of laser speedometer. We concentrate on the key hardware technologies and software algorithms of the laser speedometer. In the hardware, we give the corresponding realization diagram and experimental data about the improvement of signal reception, echo energy compensation, and the removal of interferences, which are the important influence factors on the measuring accuracy. The least square method and the design of empirical parameters are applied in the software algorithms.
