This paper presents the application of a Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) to improve dynamic performance of a distribution network including wind turbine equipped with Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The use of a DSTATCOM near a DFIG is investigated for the purpose of stabilizing the grid voltage and power after grid-side disturbance (such as a three phase short circuit fault) and horrible events (such as partially islanding in network). The performance of a DSTATCOM as a voltage controller or a power factor controller is also analyzed.
