One of the newest FACTS devices ( Flexible AC Transmission Systems) is Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC). By having several Voltage source converters (VSC), it has the capability for power flow of several lines simultaneously. This capability is effective for increasing available transfer capability (ATC). In this paper, the mathematical model of IPFC is formulated. The converters are considered as hypothetical bus in the power flow equations and then are matched with the Newton power flow. Then, by using this model, the impact of IPFC on available transfer capability of the network is studied, based on the method of Repeated power flow(RPF) from specific generation units to specific loads, and A case study is considered on 6-bus & 3-machine and 14-bus & 5-machine systems, and the results are examined in the absence and presence of IPFC in the network.
