This chapter provides a description of the various components of the Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) System before embarking on a lumped parameter modeling approach where basic laws of physics and empirical relationships are applied to generate mathematical models of individual components. A description of how to create an overall computational model of the system in Simulink™ within the Matlab™ environment is presented. The process of validating the model with experimental data is elaborated on with the end result being a model that can be used for Bubble CPAP performance assessments.
